Feeling grateful in 2016 will include shining a major spotlight on PEOPLE in my life. Today, I want to express my feelings of GRATITUDE for an amazing new friend I met toward the end of 2015.
Buck Matthews is truly my "kindred spirit". Buck Matthews was a highly popular "weatherman" at WOOD-TV, who also hosted a daily variety/talk show. Literally, Buck Matthews is the 1.0 version of "Terri DeBoer".
Buck Matthews has spent nearly 6-decades broadcasting television and radio across West Michigan. If that's not enough, Buck has also accomplished one of my big "bucket-list" items....TWICE! (Writing a book and getting it published) For years, people have told me stories about "The Great Buck Matthews!" Even though I passed the 20-year Anniversary mark at WOOD-TV on September 1, 2015. Unfortunately, our paths had not directly crossed....until the Fall of 2015. Buck Matthews was "making he rounds" in promoting his book, Getting Here.....and stopped by eightWest to promote the show! I was the "hostess" selected to interview Buck Matthews. It was such a great segment! A few days later, Buck Mattews and I met for a "2-hour cup of coffee" The time just flew by, as we compared stories, and memories from a life spent in broadcasting.
For the record, the book is incredible! It's packed with great stories, and experiences! It's also the road to incredible friendship....especially for me!
