When our kids are young, we spend hours and hours and hours with them, everyday! As they get older, the kids become more independent and spend much more time away from us than with us! That's why I feel incredible GRATITUDE when I get the chance to spend a day with one of my grown (& married) kids. Here's a picture of me with my daughter, Jacqueline, from a couple of years ago at Art Prize. At the time, she was a Nursing student at Ferris State University. I remember that day, as she had come to Grand Rapids for the day to hang out with me at Art Prize. She and I walked around downtown Grand Rapids, checking out the great art. It was a special and fun day that I cherished, because she was attending college (& living) an hour away.....and I wasn't getting to see her very often.
Now, she's a Registered Nurse (& married) ... and I see her at least once or twice a week. Today, however, was a great day! Grocery shopping, a matinee movie and then back 'home' for dinner. A day which felt even more special, because I know how limited our time together is on a regular basis!
