CHANGE
As has been the tradition for the past several years, instead of making resolutions for the brand new year, I picked a word.
This has become a trend, thanks to a popular collaborative book written by motivational speaker and thought leader Jon Gordon, along with Dan Britton and Jimmy Page.
The concept is to have a word that will become sort of a motto for the year. Instead of setting vague goals like trying to lose weight or getting more organized, the idea is to choose one word which will be a controlling focal point for the year.
CHANGE is my theme for 2020.
I’ve picked this word because of the significant “life change” that is happening in my family this year. My youngest child is graduating from college, which is a huge milestone. The change comes from the shifting dynamic in our family, as this graduation basically signifies the relationships with all of my adult children have shifted to more equal footing.
In essence, this final college graduation means that we are all now “peers” of sorts.
This is also a pivotal year for me to switch my focus to some of those lofty goals I have set for myself to achieve. Goals like finishing that book I’ve been dreaming about (and slowly working on) for years. Booking my speaking calendar more fully. Planning short get-aways to sunny and warm places during the dark grey and cold winter months.
Yes, 2020 has the potential be a year of big CHANGE for me.
I’m excited to make it happen!
