Discovering a Sweet Memory
As I was doing a bit of "Fall-cleaning" of my desk at work this morning, I made a very sweet discovery; this barrette.
This small, blue bunny barrette belongs to my youngest daughter, Jennifer. (I guess I should say she USED to wear this sweet hair accessory!)
As the youngest of three active kids, Jennifer would often have to accompany me to work on random days. Jenn's visits to WOOD-TV would often happen on a weekend day; when I had a parade to walk in; festival to attend; or perhaps an event to emcee.
It must have been on one of those many occasions where the barrette was "left behind".
I'm wondering if anyone missed it at the time. Did we search for it all over a news car? Or dig to the bottom of her diaper bag? (or my purse?)
However it managed to find it's 'resting spot' in a small basket on my desk, I found myself this morning feeling happy and a bit wistful.
An empty-nester these days (with Jenn in her Sophomore year of COLLEGE); I often find myself searching through my mental memories in re-living special memories.
What a nice treat this morning to have a PHYSICAL memory to hold onto....even if it came in the form of a sweet, blue bunny barrette.
