Living in West Michigan, the sad truth about the sky condition is CLOUDS RULE! Unfortunately, West Michigan cities are over-represented on all of the "Cloudiest Cities" lists. The truth is, sunshine brightens our spirits! In fact, there's a physical reaction that our bodies have with the sunshine...in fact, certain hormones are released when the sun shines (melatonin and seratonin). Reduced levels of these hormones can lead to feelings of sadness and hopelessness. As a result of the sunshine, the levels of these hormones will increase. So....a day like TODAY that features January Sunshine makes me feel GRATITUDE for the bright, blue skies! (Especially when I know there are plenty of completely cloudy days on the not-too-distant horizon!)
Terri DeBoer joined the team at Jacobs Financial Services as director of Communications and a licensed insurance producer after forecasting West Michigan’s weather for more than thirty years.
In addition to delivering West Michigan’s “wake up” weather, Terri also served as co-host of a daily lifestyle show called eightWest. Through weekly interviews with Tom Jacobs, Terri realized significant similarities between forecasting the weather and forecasting the financial markets. In both areas, having a plan for safety and being prepared for times of uncertainty is critical. Reviewing her personal financial retirement strategy ignited a passion within her to help others create solid plans for a fulfilling retirement. So Terri officially “retired” from WOOD-TV, passed her certification exam, and joined the team at Jacobs Financial Services.
