Avoiding the Tangles

Avoiding the Tangles

It's a regular routine for most of us that takes place just before Thanksgiving every year; getting ready to "deck the halls" for the upcoming holiday season.   But, doesn't that often mean opening of a storage container and discovering into a "mess" of tangled lights? No matter how much care we take in trying to store the lights, spending months in a rubbermaid tote seems to create complete chaos.

I had a rare opportunity to watch the team that decorates the downtown Grand Rapids area as they were stringing hundreds of strands of lights; with thousands of lights.

...with NO TANGLES!

It was amazing to discover their secret....instead of winding and looping the strings of lights; these "experts" instead rolled the lights into a ball.  By wrapping them tightly, these individual balls of lights would stay just that...INDIVIDUAL BALLS OF LIGHTS!

It all looks so simple, which is the mark of true expert in any field, right?

Finding the simple solution, which will save lots of time and headaches (and frustration) in the next holiday season to come!
